Our school works in partnership with many groups, schools and organisations. Some of these partnerships are local and some are national.
Working in partnership with parents is of paramount importance to us here at Farsley Westroyd. We believe that working closely with parents, helps us deliver the best possible outcomes for all our children as we aim to ensure that all our children become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
Farsley Westroyd is part of a close knit ‘Family of schools' in our immediate locality known as the Pudsey cluster. The cluster consists of primary and high schools who meet together regularly to share strategies for school improvement. We spend time in one another’s schools sharing good practice and learning and improving together and meet regularly to address the needs of the area and work in partnership with each other. Through this investment and partnership our families and staff are able to access a wide range of services for support. Should you wish to contact the cluster, the Pudsey cluster website is http://pudseycluster.org or email pudseycluster@coopacademies.co.uk
Our school has a well established link with Becketts university and City College. We welcome higher education students into school at varying levels, as we know we can offer the expertise and nurture that will enable them to be successful. We promote everyone to continue to learn and make a positive contribution to society.
To support the needs of all our children, it is important that we develop and maintain partnerships with a whole range of agencies. We have good relationships with the School Nursing Team, Educational Psychologists, specialist teaching services, speech and language therapists, and other professionals.
Farsley Westroyd works closely with St John's Church in Farsley. We take part in special services at the Church at Easter, Harvest festival and Christmas. Both Staff and Children are involved in a Carol concert held at the Church at Christmas.
We celebrate our rich historical background and strong links to local heritage. We are strong friends with the local mill owners and the mill archive. Ask any child in our school and they will tell you the importance of our little sheep on the development of Farsley through history. I bet our Westroyders, know more local history than the adults living in Farsley!
You will often see our children out and about on Town Street, singing usually on our way to visit the local businesses we have made relationships with! Currently we are working on a big sustainability art project with Scrap and Grumpies. (The world's best Pizza Shop)! With our sheep themed banner we led the other schools out at the Christmas light switch on last year!
We have a strong relationship with the Gregg's factory at Bramley. They regularly volunteer with projects around the school and are never shy to share their products with us, for fundraising!
Our favourite cafe at the end of our street, Caf, keep our staff happy with their yummy coffee and treats! Watch out for us singing outside again at Christmas!
