Fabulous History Learning
Last week, our subject leader for History, Mr Clough and our SENCo, Miss Johnston, carried out Learning Walks and Pupil Interviews, to find out what our children think about teaching and learning in History. Mr Clough added that, in his opinion, the quality of teaching was really strong, and the pupils backed this up with their comments too! Miss Johnston was very happy with how the teachers make sure that pupils with additional needs access the learning and make progress in the lesson. We are now implementing our new curriculum in other areas of learning than core, and there is a huge buzz across the school! Currently, Y3 are learning about the Romans, and they had a visit to York to participate in a Roman workshop. I am pretty sure there may be a visit by a Roman in the coming weeks!
I made the staff chuckle this week, with my latest sheep-themed addition to the school! See the photo above. Always up for some fun at Westroyd!
