Mrs Hollingshead - Class Teacher / Assistant Headteacher
Mrs Hollingshead has worked at Westroyd since 2012 and in this time she has taught in Nursery, Reception and Year One. Mrs Hollingshead has worked in the Early Years for the majority of her time at Westroyd and during this time has led and supported a number of staff both within our school and also in other settings. Her specialism is creating a welcoming learning environment that enables the best possible learning opportunities for all children. She loves to use open ended resources and follows children's interests to lead the learning. She is very passionate about developing children’s growth mindset and nurture resilient and independent learners. She is the Designated Safeguarding Lead at Westroyd and also leads phonics and early reading.
Miss Maybank- Class Teacher (currently on maternity leave)
Miss Maybank has worked at Westroyd since 2013 and she is an experienced key stage one teacher. She is thrilled to be joining the Early Years team for September. She is passionate about building children's independence and resilience and is excited to support nursery children ready for reception. Miss Maybank's son will be starting nursery in January and appreciates the huge milestone. She is also reading lead so can't wait to share lots of new and exciting stories.
Miss Wilson - Class Teacher
Miss Wilson is new to Westroyd and we are very lucky to have her join the team! She has a passion for early years and has worked in early years and KS1 throughout her teaching career. She loves sharing stories and building children's vocabulary.
Mrs Hart - Learning Support Assistant and Early Years Play Leader
Mrs Hart is our Early Years Learning Support Assistant. She is level 3 and is an Early Years expert. She has been a part of the Westroyd team for many years and has done many roles in her time. She has experience working with children with additional needs as well as speech and language. She also leads music in Nursery and is enthusiastic about bringing learning to life. She is very knowledgeable about child development and is fantastic at developing strong relationships with home and nursery. She is an integral part of the Early Years team and brings a lot of fun. She is developing her CPD this year by undertaking a HLTA course.
Miss Thompson -Learning Support Assistant
Miss Thompson has extensive Early Years experience and has been an integral part of the Early Years team. She has a passion for developing children's speech and language and has developed her skills through training to support children with this aspect of learning.
