Farsley Westroyd Primary School & Nursery

SEND

Miss Amy Johnston is the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) who, in conjunction with the Head teacher and the governing body, will take day to day responsibility for operating the SEN policy.

All provision for SEN pupils is monitored, reviewed and evaluated on a regular basis throughout the year and a report is made to the school governing body on how individual needs are being met and how SEN funding is being spent.

Westroyd is an inclusive Primary School, which strives to meet the individual needs of all its learners. We work in partnership with children, parents and other agencies to ensure high quality provision and provide the best possible outcomes for all our children, including those with a range of additional and complex needs.

Westroyd values every individual and celebrates their achievements.

How accessible is the school?

We have wheelchair access through a hydraulic lift and portable ramps to enable access at the staff and delivery entrance point. There is also good accessibility to Early Years as the building is all on one level. There are disabled toilets in both buildings.

For more information, please see the Accessibility Plan below.

Children have access to ancillary aids where required and we work closely with relevant professionals to ensure that our pupils have any resources that will help them to be able to access their learning.

What do I do if I think my child may have special educational needs?
